Park Jung Min in Manila Oct. 29

MANILA, Philippines - Park Jung Min is one of Korea’s present day hallyu stars, with numerous projects across Asia. Jung Min started his career as a product endorser, and later on debuted as a member of SS501. Known as the group’s Sexy Charisma, he and fellow members Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong and Kim Hyung Jun quickly rose to fame with hits like Snow Prince, Déjà vu, A Song Calling for You, Love Like This, Because I’m Stupid and most recently, Love Ya. Their collective talent in singing and dancing has been recognized internationally, having received 22 awards from different countries in Asia. This includes the 2009 Asian Yahoo Buzz Award for Top Buzz International Group.

Beyond singing, Park Jung Min has also taken on various challenges in radio and acting. In 2006, he hosted a youth-oriented radio program Young Street with fellow SS501 member Heo Young Saeng and three years later starred in a TV show titled What Women Want. His other notable screen ventures include the comedy series Human Theater, the Japanese mobile drama Love Song in August and the upcoming Taiwanese drama, Fondant Garden (from the producer of the phenomenal hit drama Meteor Garden).

The Korean theater scene is also no stranger to Park Jung Min’s acting prowess. In 2008, he joined the cast of the Korean production of Grease. His impressive portrayal of Danny Park earned him the Golden Ticket Award for Best Musical New Talent.

Last year, Park Jung Min entered a new chapter in his career and signed with CNR Media, under which he released his solo comeback albums Not Alone and Park Jung Min. Released early this year, both albums entered the top bracket of various music charts in Korea and Taiwan, and led to a series of successful fan meets across Asia and this November he will be appointed the tourism ambassador of Incheon City in Korea.

On Oct. 29, 7:30 p.m., Park Jung Min will perform in Manila at Aliw Theater together with Juris, JM de Guzman and Julieann San Jose. The concert is in partnership with the 20th Filipino-Korean Cultural Festival by UKCA. For ticket reservations, call 0906-5582500.
