(x)clusive: Dancing is InMySeoul (News about Kim Hyungjun & BEAST)

Last Saturday we witnessed an exciting battle.. For the Finals for InMySeoul K-Idol Battle and R-16 Singapore Funk Style Eliminations 2011. The IMS K-Idol Battle is a singing-dancing competition in search for the best Kpop Idol, while the R16 Funk Style Eliminations is a dance tournament for popping and locking and the finalists will be flying to Korea to take part in R16 International Urban Arts Festival, representing Singapore.

The 10 finalists for IMS Battle had all kinds of surprises and props – from bright costumes to guitar smashing (or not – Big Bang’s Tonight signature move), combined with great dance moves, it was a hard battle. Duo group SMIC managed to impress with their sharp dance moves doing 2PM’s Again and Again and Beast’s Shock and was crowned champion of the competition. Congratulations boys!
Following the IMS Battle was the R16 Eliminations, where lockers and poppers threw in their techniques and creativity. It was a great show, also filled with compassion and love among the dancers from different countries. The event was judged by famous dancers from Korea: Locker Moon, Popping DS, Pop JJ and from Paris: Junior, who did an impressive mini show themselves at the end.

It was dancing from the heart indeed as there were several donation projects going on, proceeds going to Japan for disaster relief. There was a “Polaroid for a Smile” activity, also supported by Kokokoreano – take a polaroid for $5 and proceeds go to Mercy Relief. From the event organisers themselves, they were selling “Music Saves Lives – If Only…” T-shirt, and interestingly also a sale for a self-written and sung song by our own Singaporean, Jae. “If Only…” is his first song made and it was indeed touching to listen to it live, portraying the helplessness of mankind.
Upcoming Kpop events
During the last half of the event, the audience was surprised with the news of upcoming Kpop events in Singapore. The emcee announced that SS501′s youngest Kim Hyungjun will be coming for an event on June 18, and popular boyband Beast will be here on July 2nd! However no other details were mentioned – (x)clusive got in touch with the organiser after that and they confirmed the events, but have yet to release any details yet. Kim Hyung Jun will be visiting Singapore again!
