[Article] ‘Barefooted Friends’ Gets Canceled with ‘K-pop Star 3’ Taking Its Place

With constantly low ratings, SBS’ Barefooted Friends finally got the news that it will be getting canceled.
On November 4, SBS announced through a press release that Barefooted Friends will be canceled. The final episode will air on November 17.
The program started off abroad with Kang Ho Dong, Kim Hyun Joong, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, After School’s Uee, Yoon Shi Yoon, and others doing part-time jobs to earn money. The program changed formats several times, but was unable to catch the viewers’ attention with such fierce competitors airing at the same time slot.
After the cancellation of Barefooted Friends, the third season of K-pop Star will begin on November 24.

The show has been struggling in its ratings since the beginning, and it's now been reported that the panel filmed their last episode on the 2nd. The last episode will air mid-November.
The show first aired in April, aiming for a road variety. However, the panel ended up making a food variety show instead, and the inconsistency made the ratings suffer.

[Article] Kim Hyun Joong to Drop Out of “Barefoot Friends” Due to Upcoming Drama Filming Schedule

Kim Hyun Joong has announced his departure from the variety program “Barefoot Friends.”
On October 31, Key East reps spoke with TV Report and said, “Due to scheduling conflicts with Kim Hyun Joong’s drama, he will need to step down from SBS’ ‘Barefoot Friends.’ He recently finished his last filming for the show.”
In order to film for the upcoming KBS drama, “Age of Feeling” (or “Inspiring Generation“), Kim Hyun Joong will be leaving for China in November so it would be hard for him to film “Barefoot Friends” at the same time. After discussing it with the variety show’s production team, it was decided that he would drop out.
Key East also added, “The filming for ‘Barefoot Friends’ that took place on October 27 was Kim Hyun Joong’s last one,”and “He is preparing to show better sides of himself through the upcoming drama.”
Meanwhile, it is reported that Kim Hyun Joong’s successor for “Barefoot Friends” has not yet been decided. Other than Kim Hyun Joong, Yoon Shi Yoon and Uee are also about to start new dramas, which has created talk about them leaving the show as well.

Shinhwa‘s Shin Hye Sung revealed his bachelor home to the cast of “Barefoot Friends.”
On the upcoming October 20 episode of the SBS variety show “Barefoot Friends,” the fixed cast members brought homemade food to the singer’s home.The current concept of the show is “homemade food.” The cast members learn about homemade from from celebrities who are famous for their culinary tastes and bring the food to another celebrity who lives alone. For this episode, Shin Hye Sung was the lonely single celebrity.
The cast members were impressed by Shin Hye Sung’s home but didn’t get too excited until they found a hairpin, presumably a woman’s. Shin Hye Sung defended himself by saying, “I have no idea how that got here. Please don’t make a big deal out of it.”
However, when the cast members found a microphone near his bed they teased him by claiming that, “he sings for a woman, even here.”

In a recent recording of SBS’ Barefooted Friends, the cast visited Shin Hye Sung, who lives alone, for the program’s‘Eat a Home-cooked Meal Project.’
The members of Barefooted Friends visited Shin Hye Sung’s house to cook him a nice meal. Inside the house, they noticed that everything was neat and organized despite Shin Hye Sung living on his own as a bachelor.
“It’s just that after I finished the interior design when I moved in, I just didn’t touch anything,” explained Shin Hye Sung, making everyone laugh at the new way of keeping a house clean.
