Kim Hyun Joong will be making his way around the globe.

On June 26, Keyeast announced Kim Hyun Joong’s upcoming world tour starting with Seoul concert on June 28, followed by concerts in Taiwan, China, Japan, Thailand, Mexico and Peru, meeting with his global fans for the duration of three months.

The tour titled 2014 Kim Hyun Joong World Tour: Dream and Fantasy will have the concept of spending dream-like hours with the fans.

Having kept busy with dramas and albums since his Asia fan meeting tour in 2012, Kim Hyun Joong will be meeting with his overseas fans by presenting upgraded music and special performances through the upcoming tour.

The tickets to Seoul concert, which will kick off the world tour, sold out as soon as they went on sale in the middle of June.  

The fans have also been expressing their enthusiasm for the upcoming tour.

As soon as Kim Hyun Joong’s world tour was confirmed, fans from around the world have been sharing welcoming messages through SNS accounts and those from South East Asia, America and Europe have also been sending in requests for concerts in their countries. The tour will be including five additional countries at the most, by the end of this month.

An affiliate of the team in charge of organizing the tour stated, “With the success of Kim Hyun Joong’s drama The Age of Feeling, we’ve ben getting numerous requests for fan meetings and concerts from around the world. When the news went out for the world tour, broadcasting companies and media outlets in various countries have been showing their eager interest and we expect that meeting with the global fans at a time like this will help expand Kim Hyun Joong’s activities in the future.”

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong recently ranked number one on Oricon’s daily and weekly chart with his fourth Japanese single Hot Sun.

Kim Hyun Joong's fourth Japanese single album 'Hot Sun' previously charted at #1 on the Oricon Daily Single Chart and now ranks #1 on the Oricon Weekly Single Chart! 

This is his second single album to top the Oricon Weekly Single Chart since 'Heat', which was released in July 2012, making him the first male international solo artist to top the chart twice.

His agency Key East Entertainment stated, "According to the Oricon reps, [Kim Hyun Joong] is the first international solo artist in 31 years since Taiwanese singer Au Yeung Fei Fei to rank #1 on the Oricon Weekly Chart with a single album twice and the first male international solo artist to achieve this in Oricon history."

Kim Hyun Joong’s fourth Japanese single album is continuing to top various charts in Japan.

When Kim Hyun Joong’s fourth single was released in May, it ranked number one on Tower Records’ online and offline pre-sales chart, increasing anticipation.

The fourth single titled Hot Sun ranked number one on Oricon’s daily chart when it was released on June 18.

On June 24, a week after the release, the album ranked number one on Oricon’s weekly chart, beating out other artists with a significant gap. 

This is Kim Hyun Joong’s second time topping Oricon’s weekly chart, having ranked number one previously with his second single Heat in 2012.

According to Oricon’s report, it has been about 31 years since a foreign soloist won the Oricon’s single album weekly chart twice and the first time for a foreign male soloist.

An affiliate of record company in Japan stated, “It seems like Kim Hyun Joong’s continual album activities and Japanese tours allowed close interactions with his fans, which led him to set a new record on Oricon. The new album Hot Sun has earned people’s interest by showing Kim Hyun Joong’s capacity and charms as an artist.”
