Due to difficulties in getting a broadcasting station, lead actor Kim
Hyun Joong and actress Jung Yoo Mi will be leaving the production of
‘City Conquest’.
Kim Hyun Joong’s management agency, KEYEAST Entertainment, expressed on
February 6th, “We are now liaising over the final details with the
production company. The discussions are pertaining to schedules that had
been put on hold due to filming for ‘City Conquest’. Kim Hyun Joong is
currently on his Japan concert tour, and he is slated to on a global
concert tour later this year. If something good comes up, he will exit
from his concert tour for it.”
Actress Jung Yoo Mi is also in discussion with the production company
for ‘City Conquest’. Her management agency said, “We are now in
discussions over leaving ‘City Conquest’ and accepting the offer for
Jung Yoo Mi to appear in SBS TV drama ‘Wonderful Mama’.”
‘City Conquest’ was originally scheduled for airing through KBS TV in
the earlier half of the year, but the plans were eventually scuppered by
the television station. The production company has stated that KBS TV’s
decision was politically-motivated, and that they had acted on their
own. But KBS TV replied through a statement, “After looking through the
submitted drama proposal and script, we felt that the content was
severely lacking, and had excessive violence. Thus, we deemed that it
wasn’t suitable to be aired on a public television station like ours.”
