The legal battle between Park Jung Min and his former management agency, CNR Media, has finally come to an end on May 22nd.
The legal
battle begun on July 30th, 2012 where Park Jung Min won his suit against
CNR Media to cancel his exclusive contract with them. But CNR Media
failed to pay up all the dues that were owned to Park Jung Min in the
aftermath, and also failed to take any other measures.
This led to
Park Jung Min to file another new lawsuit against CNR Media on October
10th of the same year, as he demanded for 200 million Korean won in
compensation.
Thereafter,
Park Jung Min and representatives of CNR Media met twice in order to
reach an agreement, but nothing came out of it. CNR Media said that it
accepted the results of the first trial but objected to the need to pay
the singer.
In the third
meeting on May 22nd, Park Jung Min learnt that CNR Media was
experiencing a difficult financial situation, and thus decided to
receive a lower amount of compensation that could be paid. CNR Media
agreed to comply with this new term, which ultimately led to the two
parties coming to a consensus and end the long running legal battle.
With this,
Park Jung Min has now cut all ties with CNR Media, and will be absolved
of all responsibilities related to the contract. Park Jung Min’s legal
attorney Huh Jong Sun expressed, “We weren’t seeking to get any money
for the lawsuit from the beginning. We only wanted to clarify our stand
and clear up all ties with his former agency. This new development will
allow Park Jung Min to focus all his energies on his current
activities.”
Park Jung Min is currently preparing for promotional activities in Japan and Taiwan, and a new album.
